About the Director ... Following four years of varsity tennis in high school, Dave Lipe, Director of Lipe Tennis Services, played collegiate tennis at Principia College and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. You can contact Dave via E-mail at dave@lipetennis.com. Dave has served as an English Teacher and Boys and Girls Varsity Coach at Edwardsville High School since 1994. In that time, the Tigers have won thirteen Southwestern Conference championships, 23 Sectional Titles, and four times have finished in the top-ten in the IHSA tournament. During this time, EHS has produced over 50 All-State Players, countless state tournament qualifiers, and four quarterfinalists in the State Tournament. Dave has also won over 30 local Coach of the Year Awards. He was selected as the Illinois State Coaches’ Association Coach of the Year (1999), chosen as the Outstanding Contributor to Jr. Tennis by the St. Louis District Tennis Association (2000), and was the St. Louis District Outstanding Contributor to USA Team Tennis (2005). During Coach Lipe’s tenure at EHS many players have graduated to play collegiate tennis; many of these players earned scholarships, including Matt Cooper (University of St. Francis), Andrew Reznack (Bradley University), Lauren Schmidt (Texas A & M University at Corpus Christi), Kerry Romani (Quincy University), Michael Chamberlain (SIUE), Daniel Lipe (SIUE), Jake Snyder (Quincy University), Chris Rigdon (Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville), and Jade Stanlick (Olivete Nazarene University). |
